MULTIDYNE and Calient Networks exhibit together at NAB 2004

San Jose, Calif., April 19, 2004 – Calient Networks, the leading provider of photonic switching systems and software, and MULTIDYNE Video & Fiber Optic Systems will jointly exhibit a new transparent optical routing switch solution for the broadcast, video and television industry at the NAB 2004 Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, April 19-22, booth # C3151.

MULTIDYNE will introduce the FOS Series of fiber optical routing switchers based on Calient Networks photonic switching technology. The optical routing switchers are available in matrix sizes starting at 32 by 32 ports, fully scalable to 288 by 288 ports. The switcher delivers guaranteed, non-blocking, deterministic switched video connections on fiber optic links.

“We are delighted to work with Calient Networks, the clear leader in photonic switching,” said Jim Jachetta, Vice President of Sales & Marketing with Multidyne. “The FOS product line will complement and fully integrate with our core fiber optic transport systems.”

In the past two years, Calient has successfully adapted its photonic switch to meet the dynamic needs of the global telecommunications, research and governmental network markets with switching systems and subsystems. Its award-winning switching fabric remains the only carrier-class 3D MEMS photonic core commercially proven and deployed in live networks.

“We are very interested in exploring new market opportunities for photonic switching in the broadcast, video and television industry,” stated Ron Mackey, Chief Marketing Officer at Calient Networks. “Multidyne has considerable experience and an impressive track record in video networking applications.”

MULTIDYNE and Calient Networks will be at booth C3151 at NAB 2004.
